The Power of Thought: Eliminating the Negative Effects of Stress

There are times when stress is relentless.  Things arise in life that cause us enormous amounts of stress and when we find ourselves in its firm grasp, it can be very difficult to break free.  Some of the advice we read or hear sounds great in theory, but when you’ve gone over the edge it’s not always that easy to reach out and grab the voice of reason and plead with it to jump in.  Why?  Because our emotions get involved.

Emotions can be extremely overpowering.  We may have read thousands of books, taken thousands of courses, listened to thousands of audios and along comes that one extremely stressful situation and we skip right over the “stay in the moment” education and react.  Bam!  Emotions have hit the override button once again.  How did I get back to this place?  I know better!

We may know better, but that does not mean we’re super human.  Emotions are the driving force behind almost everything we do whether we choose to believe that or not.  And they are all powerful!  One of the reasons we vote politicians into office whom we know to be dishonest is quite simple.  They have been trained to speak to our emotions.  If they spoke solely to our intellect, we would have a very difficult time finding the right people to fill those official chairs.

This is also true when it comes to shopping, eating, diet fads, the car we drive, what clothes we wear… you name it.  Emotions are making our decisions most of the time.

So what does this have to do with stress again?

Stress is ruled by emotions.  If it were ruled by our intellect, we would find a solution and move on.  But instead, we start thinking about all of the tragedy that is about to befall us.  Thoughts of doom simmer until eventually it boils over right along with our blood pressure.  Pretty soon, along comes poor health and with it a ton of other problems.

Now that it’s clear what stress is and that it’s sometimes difficult to take control of it (something most of us already know), what’s the solution?

We have to control our emotions in order to conquer stress and take control of our life.  In order to control our emotions, we have to choose what thoughts we give energy to.  In order to choose what thoughts we give energy to, we have to be aware of what we are thinking.

Learning how to master your own thoughts is life transforming.  You can eliminate stress, fear and other negative emotions.  Once learned, it becomes a way of life and you will immediately notice a shift.  You will begin attracting what you want and what you don’t want will fall away.  You are in control of your life and your emotions.  Think about it how nice it will be to change a negative, energy depleting emotion into a positive, high energy emotion on demand.  To no longer worry about the negative effects of stress.

Stress, and other negative emotions such as jealousy, hate, resentment, worry, frustration, anger and a plethora of others are directly linked to poor health, advanced aging and premature death.

Once you learn the techniques to master your own mind, you will enjoy a healthier, more abundant life.  Have you ever paid attention to the difference between the face of a negative person verses the face of a positive person?  Big difference.  Which face do you want to have?  The vibrant, glowing one or the deeply furrowed, sour one?

There are times when stress is relentless.  Things arise in life that cause us enormous amounts of stress and when we find ourselves in its firm grasp, it can be very difficult to break free.  Some of the advice we read or hear sounds great in theory, but when you’ve gone over…
