There is a certain art to writing a short love message. It’s difficult to say what you mean in a regular text message without making it too long or two short. Figuring out what you want to say is easy. The hardest part is actually doing it, especially for us shy-types. I’ve done a little research and found that there are a few tricks to making a message that will make your man come up with a reason to leave the office early. These worked with my guy, they’ll work for yours too!
To write a good love text message you have to know exactly what you want to say, and for the lovely kind of message, I’ve found there are two major types: affirmation, and what I like to call, “booty texts.” The affirmation kind is about letting your special somebody know that you’re thinking about them. The “booty text,” on the other hand, is all about getting them riled up and looking for a reason to go home early.
Affirmation texts are easy. All you need to do is personalize it and say something simple. You can personalize by using your special somebody’s name, or referencing a shared experience. The “I love you,” and “I miss you,” get stale after a while though. Be creative! Heck, you don’t even have to make it romantic; just sending a short quote text message will be enough to let them know they’re on your mind.
“Booty texts” are a lot more fun. Being playful and creative is key, but don’t be afraid to be upfront. Something like, “I’ve been fantasizing about ______ all day. When will you be home?” is a great one. You can fill in the blank with anything, from a, ahem, marital aid, to a certain act or person. You could also try using food as a lure. You know the saying, “The fastest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” Well, it’s kind of true. I’ve sent my boyfriend something like, “I made ribs tonight. Also, I’m doing ‘dessert.’ When can you be there?” I just picked ribs because they’re his favorite, but the dessert innuendo got him to my place an hour before he was supposed to be here!
Get To It!
Why not send one now? Writing these things is simple, and as long as you’re not too sly (guys do have trouble picking up on some things), then he’ll find a reason to come over and see what you’ve cooked up. Then, you’re free to enjoy your potentially steamy evening. Oh, la la!
I’ve given this advice to a few of my girlfriends, but some of them are a little too shy to send love messages to their men. I usually point them at HERE. Their blog is top notch, and the book is awesome! I took a couple of their pointers and, well, let’s just say that I’m a much more satisfied woman now.
